August 23rd, 2009.
Blink 182 played in Toronto with Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French.
Josh, Michelle and I were in attendance, Front Row with V.I.P. This is my favourite memory. We all arrived in Toronto on the 23rd at 6am. Tried to find a way to Josh's cousins house. I asked an indian man selling chicken on the sidewalk where the subway was and he pointed me to the restaurant. We then were approached by a really sketchy native man who had just been released from prison (thats what he told us.) We then saw an armless hobo, a witch(L4D reference), and a homeless person we named The Joker. We met up with some Police officers in front of a Tim Hortons who told us "if you go that way, you'll get mugged. But if you go that way you'll get stabbed. and the go station is that way." So we traveled toward what we assumed would be our demise. We finally found the GO Station and took the bus to where Josh's cousin lives. I took a nap while Michelle and Josh found us a hotel online. Michelle decided to nap, So josh and I ate some sketchy KD while looking at Ps2 games. We then woke up Michelle and went on our way. We then arrived at the hotel (Josh slept on the GO Bus the whole way to downtown, it was about a 45 minute bus ride, but he hadn't napped, so its cool. lol) We got lunch, then we attempted to nap at the hotel but that didn't happen. So we showered (one by one, not together.) Then we headed on our way to meet up with someone and then head to the concert. We took a subway and a cable car to the Molson Amphitheatre. Watched Chester French, they were okay. Watched Taking Back Sunday, they were good but could've been way better. But then, Weezer came on, and they were amazing! They definitely got the night started. But then the moment of truth... The moment I had been waiting for since I watched the music video premier for Dammit on MuchMusic. The black curtain began to show the Blink happy face symbol. And then, it happened. BANG! The curtain dropped and they began to play Dumpweed. From that point until the end of the concert I had a smile from ear to ear (even when I balled my eyes out during both Adams Song and Stay Together For The Kids.) After the concert we headed back to the hotel, ate out lunch leftovers and then passed out.
The next day was awesome too, we wandered the Eaton Centre after checking out of the hotel and then rode the Greyhound back to Sudbury.
And that by far is my favourite memory.
